A neighbor of Porkchop Geyser, Pearl Geyser was full of the same luminescent blue water in the center. Definitely helps to see what it likely looked like when originally named.

Yesterday’s photo focused on the large amount of rock pushed up at Porkchop Geyser in Norris. Late in the evening, I discovered this other one that does a better job of showing the blue water. It should have gone with the other, but since I discovered it so much later after posting, here it is for today’s photo.

Porkchop Geyser shimmers as an almost florescent blue – often just blue steam can be seen depending on your vantage point. The rocks surrounding the geyser show the force of the explosion that expanded the crater. Before this explosion, it was shaped exactly like a pork chop.
