I dug through winter photos today – still hoping to get a bit of winter here as it’s much too dry. While going through them, I realized I hadn’t processed this one of our dogs for stock. One of my absolute favorites of the two of them.

This is our 9 year old female Samoyed, Taylor. She’s the one we kept from the one litter we had to show, but she hated the show ring. In this photo, she was watching Rhad, our Pembroke Welsh Corgi romp in the snow – the puppy she happily adopted as her own. I couldn’t resist taking photos of her with such great fill light from the snow – she’s such a pretty girl both inside and out.

All of the Corgis I’ve known adore shoes, rip up shoes, sleep in shoes and generally love them since they smell like the people they love. So with our puppy, I worked hard at training him that he could sleep in them, on them, next to them, but chewing was not allowed. The training worked and he’s been pretty good about it, though we did lose a couple of pairs of shoes and my husband’s slippers still bear the puppy teeth marks on them.

Time for a cool winter photo. This is our dog, Rhad, when he was 3 months old romping through a whole two or three inches of snow. He adores snow still, but this photo is a favorite from when he was a tiny puppy.
